Why Your Yeast Infection Is Worse
After Treatment

If your yeast infection is worse after treatment then that can indicate a few things that are wrong. More women are now suffering with this problem because of the ease in which they can buy over the counter yeast infection creams, and then they use them without their doctors help. This means they get used incorrectly, when they're not needed and far too often. This causes problems later.

Resistant yeast

The biggest reason why your yeast infection is worse after treatment is the yeast that is infecting your vagina is now resistant to the anti fungal cream you have been using. This resistance can happen for a couple of reasons.

One way yeast builds resistance to an OTC anti fungal cream is it hasn't been used correctly. A lot of women will use the cream, and when their symptoms disappear they stop using the cream. The symptoms of a yeast infection will disappear before the infection does. If the treatment is stopped too soon the infection will return, but the fungus will have mutated into a stronger form that is resistant. Because the yeast is now stronger it will be harder to kill, and that is the reason why the infection now feels worse.

Yeast infection is worse after treatment because of the treatment

Many women will go out and buy an OTC anti fungal cream for every itch they get in the genital area. Not all itching is due to the Candida Albicans yeast infecting the vagina, and an anti fungal cream should only be used on a yeast infection. When the cream is used when it isn't needed it upsets the bacterial and chemical balance in and around the vagina, and it will cause the yeast to become resistant, and in some cases will actually cause a yeast infection.

If you didn't have a yeast infection to begin with, and you have one now that's why you feel that your yeast infection is worse after treatment. It isn't really worse, you might not have had a vaginal yeast infection to begin with.

Self diagnosing a yeast infection

Most of the problems that occur with yeast infection treatments arise through self diagnosis. This leads to women using yeast infection creams when they don't need to, and they use them without the help of their doctor.

See your doctor

If your yeast infection is worse after treatment that you have used you need to go back to your doctor. If you haven't had a correct diagnosis then your doctor can make sure you do have a yeast infection. When you see your doctor nothing is left to chance. A wrong diagnosis can lead to you creating a yeast infection with resistant yeast, and you will also be leaving another far worse infection untreated.

Natural yeast infection cure

If your yeast infection is worse after treatment whether it was an OTC or prescription anti fungal cream you can now use a natural cure to successfully treat yourself. That's of course, if you don't want to use oral anti fungals that are prescribed by your doctor.

A natural yeast cure will reverse the damage that has been caused by the over use of anti fungal creams that have upset the bacterial and chemical balance in your vagina.
