Preventing A Yeast Infection When Taking Antibiotics

Preventing a yeast infection when taking antibiotics is a lot easier than trying to cure an infection afterwards. Antibiotics waken all of your body's natural defenses against the yeast so it is these defenses that need to be strengthened to prevent an infection.

Probiotics for your intestinal flora

To prevent the yeast in your body mutating you must keep your beneficial bacteria levels high. You can do this with probiotics. You can purchase probiotic yogurts and drinks in most supermarkets now, and these will get your levels high so your body can fight off the yeast.

Your immune system

Your immune system also needs to be strong to help your body prevent a yeast infection while taking antibiotics. So you should be eating plenty of nutritious foods such as fruit and vegetables. Taking a multivitamin wouldn't hurt either.

Avoid eating sugar

Yeast and fungi love sugar and any foods that contain sugar so during your course of antibiotics, and for a while after you should avoid these foods. If you just eat fresh foods and avoid all processed foods you should be alright.

What are you treating

If by chance you're treating a urinary tract infection then you can avoid taking antibiotics altogether. There is a very successful home UTO remedy that is far better than any antibiotics.

You can read more about it here 12 Hour UTI Cure.
